The Markham Food Bank helps feed families who are hungry and having difficulty making ends meet in the city of Markham. Families in need can access the food bank on a monthly basis to get emergency groceries to last them at least three days. When the food bank is better stocked, a family might receive enough food to last five days. The Markham Food Bank has become a valuable partner as we work together with them to make sure no one in our community goes hungry. Our annual food drive, Hungry for Summer, is now held at the end of June to support the food bank through the summer months as that is their leanest time (most organizations do food drives at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter).

Our last two food drives combined to provide the Markham Food Bank with 7,500 food items, worth a combined $20,000. Check out our pictures from the most recent Hungry for Summer food drive below. Thank you for continuing to donate and support the Markham Food Bank!

If you have interest in financially supporting the Markham Food Bank, you may do so by giving to the mission line item on an offering envelope and designating it for the Food Bank. They use money to buy other fresh and refrigerated items and pay for the space they rent.
