Markham Newcomers Network
Connection and care for refugees and immigrants
Moving to a new and different place can be lonely. Different cultures, customs, and systems can be confusing. The Markham Newcomers Network brings people together to build friendships with other newcomers as well as local people who want to welcome those new to the Markham community. The Markham Newcomers Network is a place to ask questions and learn how to achieve your goals in your new country. It offers a place to experience healing from the emotional struggles of restarting your life in a new place. It is a place to find care and connection.
The Markham Newcomers Network has three programs creating opportunities to build friendships and address the practical and emotional health needs of newcomers:
- Language Cafés
- Life in Canada Group
- Newcomer Care Group
