Kidzone: August 28 Update
Dear Kidzone Families,
Happy Friday! It’s hard to believe this is the last Sunday of August, and September is just around the corner! We at the bridge are so excited about the upcoming fall ministry year. Be sure to keep reading for some exciting initiatives you won’t want to miss! Also, check out our updated Family Resources for a ‘Back to School Planner’ to help you create meaningful connection with your kids surrounding this new school year, as well as an encouragement to parents of 5th graders entering 6th grade.
As was highlighted in the online service, Kidzone is partnering with ONmission & Host Ministries to participate in a BACKPACK DRIVE for families in need within the York Region School Board. This is a fantastic way to fulfill the ‘GO’ part of our mission at the bridge, and also a great ministry opportunity for your family to put God’s love into action! Head to: www.thebridgemarkham.com/carepackage for the list of simple supplies that are needed to collect in a backpack for a child this September! After putting that together as a family, you can drop it off during one of the Drive-Thru Drop Off times: Saturday, August 29, 10am-12pm OR Wednesday, September 2nd, 6:30-8:30pm. Physical distancing and proper safety precautions will be in place.
Speaking of a drive-thru…do we have NEWS for YOU! You are ALL cordially invited to our KIDZONE POPPING-UP Drive-thru event in the bridge parking lot on Saturday September 12th from 9:30am-12pm! Just like POPPING-UP Sunday happened last year to celebrate and mark the transition of all our kids entering into their new grade levels or classes, we will be doing the same this year: in the form of a drive-thru event! Please sign up using the Doodle link HERE for one of the time slots, gather your family in the car, and head on over to the bridge to drive-thru the event. It’s that simple! This will be a special time to kick off our Fall ministry year, to see many familiar faces, wave at volunteers, and receive a POPPING UP bag with some fun Kidzone swag, snacks and curriculum resources for the Fall. We are asking that all families stay in their vehicles as they drive-thru the bridge parking lot. Please be assured that all volunteers will be masked and practicing physical distancing. Any bags being passed to you via your car window will be done so by a volunteer wearing gloves. We graciously ask that you only attend during the time you have signed up for, in order for us to safely manage the number of cars driving through the driveway and parking lot on September 12th. We can’t wait to see you there!
Please Note: This is also a great opportunity to bring your Family Offering envelope with you! It can be dropped off in one of the marked Family Offering containers that some of our volunteers will have.
