Kidzone: December 3 Update

Dec 3, 2021Kidzone Online

December is here! What a blessing it was to kick off our Christmas season last Saturday with, “A Night in Bethlehem!” Thank you so much to all of you who attended: it was such a joy to see you and your kids taking part in the experience together! Thank you also for bringing dolls & balls for our bridge missionary  Kenisha & the Christian Hope Community Association in the Dominican Republic. We collected 4 large bags and 1 large box for the children this Christmas. Praise God!

We are headed into week 5 of IN-PERSON Kidzone at the bridge! It has been such a gift to minister in-person to 35 of our kids each week! We would love to welcome your kids to experience safe in-person ministry as well. Our Kidzone volunteers for Sunday ministry at TOB are fully vaccinated. Remember, registration is happening on bridgeconnect.ca and opens Sundays at 7pm for the following week.

Our Kidzone Konnection Groups are back again for those who registered this Sunday Dec. 5th at 10am! Please remember to change the name on Zoom to your child’s name to help us get them in the correct break-out room quickly. Konnection groups will finish on Dec. 12th, and then we will be taking a month off while lessons continue to be posted on Kidzone Online.

*There will be NO in-person Kidzone Dec. 19th or 26th; Kidzone Online will continue to be updated over the holidays on both the 19th and 26th. We will resume Kidzone in-person on January 2nd.

As we prepare our hearts for Christmas, I want to encourage your family to be intentional in how you approach celebrating Christ this season with your kids! We have updated our Kidzone Resource page with some new Advent Devotional resources. You can check those out HERE!

We are heading into our LAST week of a 4-week Saddleback kids’ series on, “Daniel.” “Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who live in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself..” (1 Cor. 6:19). Paul’s words in the New Testament urged the church to examine the ways they were treating their bodies, minds, and spirits. What we take in matters! The foods we eat affect our physical health, which can affect our ability to minister and care for our community. The TV we watch and the music we listen to can affect our mood and emotions, or our witness to others. Jesus himself tells us in Matthew 6:45b, “What you say flows from what is your heart.” Daniel, even as a young man, knew that he had a responsibility to pursue good things physically and spiritually! Every day offers us a fresh start and chance to evaluate the things we are taking in. God is always faithful to help us as we choose new, healthier habits physically, emotionally and spiritually: He is the God of new beginnings!

Next week we begin a 4 week Christmas series!

As usual, these video lesson and family resource postings will be updated by Fridays at 4pm on Kidzone Online.

In His Love,
Pastor Shauna
