Kidzone: October 23 Update

Dear Kidzone Families,

We are entering into an EXCITING weekend at the bridge, as we begin a new series on PRAYER. I have been praying for this upcoming series for weeks and am so expectant at all God will do to transform each of our lives through it. But here is a thought I’ve been reflecting on: prayer is not part of our life, it is life. We tend to sometimes view prayer as an ‘aid’ to our lives, but God’s intention for it was to be completely foundational to our days, minutes and moments. In teaching our kids to pray, we want them to experience prayer as multi-dimensional conversations with God, not a rigid and boring practice. We want them to know that the God of the UNIVERSE is listening to them and cares deeply for them; that they can talk to him any time, any place and under any circumstances. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks about an online prayer seminar we’ll be hosting for YOU as parents: to equip and disciple you in how to pray for your kids and how to teach your kids to pray. Leanne Cabral, author of “A Parent’s Best Gift- A Practical Guide to Passing Faith on to our Kids” will be ministering and sharing practical guidance and strategies with us. We can’t wait! 

We’ve got some great resources for you on Kidzone Online, if you’re looking for support in discipling your kids in their faith.  One in particular that is quite practical and effective is the, “Faith Conversation Guide for Parents” which is broken down into strategic talking points according to kids’ developmental stages. They range from pre-school to upper elementary. Check it out HERE!

GUESS WHAT!? We are off to a GREAT start for our “Balls & Dolls” drive that began on Wednesday evening! This collection is for our bridge missionary Kenisha, who serves with Christian Hope Community Association in the Dominican Republic. If you weren’t able to drop off your donation on Wednesday evening- it’s not too late! You can also drop it off on Sunday Oct. 25th between 4-6pm. We are looking for NEW balls and multicultural dolls. Help us to be ONMISSION and to fulfill our GIVE & GO call!

OUR KIDZONE KONNECTION GROUPS FOR GRADE 1-5 KIDS ARE GOING GREAT! We had many of your kids join us on Sunday Oct. 18th, and there was so much joy shared in being able to re-connect and begin relationship building with one another online. If you are still interested in signing your child up, it’s not too late! Please visit Kidzone Online HERE for more information, and go ahead and fill out the quick online permission form HERE. This is a one-time form that will not only give your child permission to participate any time during this year, but will also keep you in the communication loop with the Zoom link from your child’s Kidzone Konnect leader sent 1-2 days prior to the meet time. Our next time together is Sunday, November 1st at 10:30am!
